This year Trim Library will host a musical celebration of the life of one of Irelands best musicians Mickey McKenna. The Festival is runover two days this year the 21st and 22nd of August with music from local musicians and some of Mick’s Family and friends, including Barney McKenna, Sean Og MaKenna,Liam Kennedy, Ben Keogh and Bill Whelan. Also on the 22nd in Leabharlann Rathcairn, Co na Mi, Rathcairn, Meath Cost: Saor in Aisce (Free)

Mickey was born in Trim and comes from a long line of talented musicians. “I was lucky enough to have played alongside and spent many summers with Mickey and all the McKenna’s at one time or another. I’m delighted to see Mickey being remembered in this way and I wish all involved great success.”
