Update from Gerry.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch. I’ve been working on making ends meet as the rest of the world has, and thankfully it’s been a worthwhile challenge. Among recent developments, I’ve had an opportunity to get together with a friend and fellow musician, Emmett Vaughan. He’s a fine player and singer whom I’ve played with many times over the last 20 years. We’ve formed a group called Blue Cedar Project you can check it out here.

Our plans include creating a stage show for live gigs with an emphasis on the dark side of bluegrass. There are many wonderful songs in the bluegrass tradition but for our money it’s the dark, dangerous side that we’re interested in. We also want to play some roots and blues songs using guitars banjos mandolin and two part harmony’s

I’m very excited about this venture with Emmett; we’re looking forward to revealing our full plans as they build. I will still perform solo in the future and continue adding to the recordings I’ve done to date. Thanks to everyone for your continued support in all the ventures I’ve been involved in. I know those of you who enjoy acoustic, live music will love the style that Blue cedar Project will be performing. Check out www.bluecedarproject.ie

Hi everyone, first post of 2011.

Firstly, a big hello to everyone 2011 is here and moving fast. I’ve been busy since the last post but haven’t blogged. I’ve recorded some tracks and have more on the way. I stopped gigging for a portion of 2010 and really enjoyed the break, it was much needed. I will be doing some gigs this year too but not as many as before. I’m off to my friends in France soon for a gig there on the 26th of March. More details to come very soon.
